Pantoprazole<\/a>\u00a0is used to treat certain\u00a0stomach<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0esophagus<\/a>\u00a0problems (such as\u00a0acid reflux<\/a>). It works by decreasing the amount of acid your\u00a0stomach<\/a>\u00a0makes. It helps heal acid damage to the stomach and esophagus, helps prevent ulcers, and may help prevent\u00a0cancer<\/a>\u00a0of the esophagus. Pantoprazole belongs to a class of drugs known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs).<\/p>\n
